Patrick, a financial industry veteran, has been with RBC Dominion Securities since 1991, starting as an Investment Advisor. Today, as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor, he expertly guides clients and their families through the ever-changing financial decisions, risks, and opportunities they face throughout their lives. Patrick focuses on empowering his clients to enjoy life and retirement worry-free.
When he was 16, Patrick invested in his first stock, and his love for investing developed into a passion upon which he built his career. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in Toronto in 1981 and spent several years practicing personal and corporate taxation while completing the CICA in-depth tax program.
In 1987, Patrick moved to Vancouver to become manager of taxation for Pemberton Securities Inc. He evaluated investment opportunities and developed strategies to maximize after-tax returns for senior equity traders and investment advisors.
Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Patrick provided taxation, corporate finance, and accounting advice to corporate and individual clients on a contract basis. He directed the investment strategies for a $25–30 million short-term money market portfolio and managed $17 million per month of foreign exchange trading for Crestbrook Forest Industries Ltd. He also negotiated with financial institutions on lines of credit and loan covenants for CFI and a private real estate developer.
Patrick has complemented his diverse expertise and dedication to each client’s success through obtaining the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. He also holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario, the University of Windsor, and the Université de Lyon, France.
To support the community, he has served as a Big Brother and is a former Board of Trustees member for the Vancouver Academy of Music. Patrick was an active volunteer in Whistler for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, and he continues to volunteer in Alpine Skiing events, including the Invictus Games.
Outside of work, Patrick enjoys skiing, fishing, and, most importantly, spending time with his spouse and their two incredible children.
